[origin: EP0396904A2] A device for lifting and lowering a back pressure cylinder acting on a plate cylinder in a rotary printing machine and for carrying out far-reaching lifting movements for the purpose of changing the plate cylinder is provided with spindles for lifting and lowering the bearings of the back pressure cylinder and with a pressure medium piston cylinder unit acting on the spindles for pressing the back pressure cylinder onto the plate cylinder. Each spindle nut (13) is of tubular construction. Arranged on a tubular portion of the spindle nut (13) with the same outside diameter is a pinion (11) which can be driven by a motor and is guided non-rotatably but displaceably over a limited route.
