[origin: EP0396915A2] In household appliances, such as laundry-treatment and dish-washing machines, with a programme input device, in which a selectable main programme can be set by means of a rotary selector switch and further additional functions by means of pushbutton switches, and with a microcomputer control, by means of which the programme execution of the machine is controlled, the user is to be offered a simple method and arrangement for programme input and programme control. For this, the pushbutton switches (4) are designed as non-locking switches, the input commands of which are stored in a non-volatile memory, so that, in the event of a restart, the programme already individually selected is executed automatically. <IMAGE>
