Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0397057A1] Single-piece connecting elements (3) are used for electrically connecting to one another the conductor tracks which are present on the two circuit boards (1, 2), which connecting elements (3) are fitted in a retaining body (14, 16) which is connected detachably or non-detachably to the extension circuit board. The one end (7) of each connecting element (3) is pressed directly into a through-plated hole in the mother circuit board (1) and the other end (5) is pressed directly into a corresponding hole in the extension circuit board (2). The production of this elastic press-in connection in the mother circuit board and the detachment, which is not carried out very often, take place with the aid of an installation element (18, 19) (screw connection) associated with the retaining body. In this way, the unit consisting of the retaining body (14, 16) and the extension circuit board (2) can be moved continuously towards the mother circuit board (1) or can be raised therefrom. As a result of the direct fitment of the connecting elements into the through-plated holes, electrically short transitions, inter alia, are achieved and no special preparatory work is necessary for such extension or re-equipment. <IMAGE>
