A control member (1) for a fluid flow regulating device (2), particularly on a motor vehicle, which member (1) comprises: - a linear rotary motor (3) with a rotor (8) comprising a permanent magnet (12); - means (25) for mechanically connecting the rotor (8) to a hub (15) supporting an on-off member (14) of the device (2); and - an electronic control system (4) for controlling the linear motor (3) according to a number of vehicle status parameters and the operating condition of parts of the vehicle.
