[origin: WO8907165A1] In a known stopping process, the motor is brought to a standstill by repeated braking and then driven again until the main shaft of the sewing machine reaches a certain desired position. In the new process, the duration of the stopping process is shortened and the stopping precision improved. In the new stopping process, the main shaft of the sewing machine is tested in numerous predetermined positions in order to ascertain whether the actual speed of the sewing machine exceeds one of a plurality of speeds associated with the angles of rotation of the main shaft of sewing machine, in which case the motor is braked. Otherwise the sewing machine is driven at a predetermined lower limiting speed in order to reduce it to said lower speed.

Dans un procédé d'arrêt connu, le moteur est stoppé par un freinage répété puis entraîné de nouveau jusqu'à ce que l'arbre principal de la machine à coudre atteigne une certaine position souhaitée. Dans ce nouveau procédé, la durée du processus d'immobilisation est raccourcie et la précision d'arrêt améliorée. Dans le nouveau procédé, on vérifie pour plusieurs positions prédéterminées de l'arbre principal de la machine à coudre si la vitesse instantanée de la machine à coudre dépasse une valeur parmi une pluralité de valeurs de vitesse associées aux angles de rotation de l'arbre principal de la machine, auquel cas le moteur est freiné. Dans le cas contraire, la machine à coudre est entraînée à une vitesse limite inférieure prédéterminée afin de la ramener à ladite vitesse inférieure.
