In a method for manufacturing a printing product from a multiplicity of sheets lying one above the other in a rotary printing machine, in which method, to form the printing product in the rotary printing machine, the sheets lying one above the other are folded together once along their transverse centre line, a considerable amount of waste paper is produced due to the prefold or return fold required for opening the printing product out again. To avoid this waste, the multiplicity of sheets of the printing product are joined together at least on one side extending transversely to the delivery direction in the region of the trimming edge prior to delivery by the rotary printing machine, in such a way that the prefold or return fold can be omitted and it is still possible for the printing product to be opened out again.

Bei einem Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Druckprodukts (11) aus einer Vielzahl von übereinanderliegenden Blättern in einer Rotationsdruckmaschine, bei dem die übereinanderliegenden Blätter zur Bildung des Druckproduktes in der Rotationsdruckmaschine einmal entlang ihrer Quermittellinie (18) zusammengefaltet werden, entsteht durch den zum Wiederauffalten des Druckproduktes erforderlichen Vorfalz oder Rückfalz ein erhebliches Maß an Papierverschnitt. Zur Vermeidung dieses Abfalls wird die Vielzahl der Blätter des Druckprodukts vor der Abgabe von der Rotationsdruckmaschine wenigstens an einem der quer zur Abgaberichtung (12) verlaufenden Seitenränder (15) im Bereich des Beschnittsrandes (14) miteinander verbunden, so daß der Vorfalz bzw. Rückfalz weggelassen werden kann und dennoch ein Wiederauffalten des Druckprodukts möglich ist.
