[origin: EP0398345A1] A packaging case is described which preferably consists of a single-piece corrugated cardboard blank. Attached to the inside of the blank (1) is a multilayer, inflatable plastic-film cushion (12) which is closed upon itself. The cushion (12) consists of a plurality of chambers (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18) which are in air-permeable communication with one another. At least one of these chambers has a closable air inlet nozzle (19). For packing objects in this case, said objects are firstly placed in the case and the cushion is then inflated. Due to the increase in volume thus achieved, the cushions wrap themselves around the objects and hold them securely against slipping.
