Plate-shaped metallic pieces of jewellery are to be inexpensive, easy to process and superficially hard and, in particular, are to have shining light-optical effects. Scheibenförmige metallische Schmuckstücke sollen preiswert, einfach zu bearbeiten und oberflächenhart sein, und sollen insbesondere brilliante lichtoptische Effekte aufweisen. Nach der Erfindung wird dies erreicht durch die Verwendung eines Einkristalls (1), auf den eine Schicht (2) aus chemisch andersartigem Material in extrem geringer Schichtdicke (a) zwischen 0,01 my und 2 my aufgebracht ist.
