[origin: EP0399250A1] The packaging web consists of blanks which are connected to one another by residual webs for folding boxes. <??>In order to be able to process blanks as web-type material consisting of thin cardboard using a packaging machine, the blanks are connected to one another at the free edges by residual webs. The latter are separated in the vicinity of the packaging machine so that the individual blanks required for the packaging process are available. <??>When using blanks (14) which are provided with an integrally attached collar blank (32) in the vicinity of a front wall (15) of the blank (14), the web (37) of material is constructed in such a way that the adjacent blanks are also connected to one another in the vicinity of the collar blanks (42) by at least one residual web (40), specifically at the free edges of collar side walls (34).
