Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0399301A2] A felt for papermaking machines is proposed which consists of one or more wire screens and at least one nonwoven layer needle-punched thereto. In order to achieve a very high drainage rate with these felts, a ply formed only from longitudinal threads is inserted between the wire screen and the nonwoven layer or between the wire screens.
