Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0400277A1] This golf-club head comprises: a hollow body (10) defining an open inner volume (30); a closure element (20) interacting with this body so as to close the inner volume thereof, this closure element having, on the outer side, a surface (22) forming the striking face of the club; and a material (32) filling at least a part of the inner volume of the body, this material contributing to the joining of the closure element to the body. <??>The filling material may, in particular, be injected or cast, before positioning of the handle on the head of the club by means of a hollow lateral shank coupling (14) communicating with the inner volume of the hollow body via which the filling material (32) is introduced. <??>This golf-club head may also comprise an inner transverse surface (40), defined, for example, by an added wall (41), dividing the inner volume of the hollow body so as to reduce the volume of the filling material, as well as means (50) for holding the closure element in position before introduction of the filling material into the hollow body, for example means compressed between the inner transverse surface (40) and the closure element (20). <IMAGE>
