[origin: EP0400481A1] The invention relates to a bag for packaging, in particular vacuum packaging, which bag is folded in such a way that it has essentially the shape of a parallelepiped. It has an upper rectangular end region (4) which consists of two surfaces projecting upwards from the upper side of the bag and in which the bag is sealed by a welded seam which extends parallel to the longitudinal sides of the rectangular region, said rectangular region having essentially in the centre a continuous cutout (8) which has an edge (9) which is essentially parallel to the longitudinal sides (5, 6) of the rectangular region, whereas its upper end is situated between the welded seam (7) and the upper longitudinal side (5), and the edge (9) continuing essentially at a right angle to its lower end in an edge (10) which is arranged essentially parallel to the longitudinal sides (5, 6) between the welded seam (7) and the lower longitudinal side (6). <IMAGE>
