Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0401122A1] The invention relates to an element of an electrical connector of the type comprising an insulating unit (15, 17) in which is formed, at least partially, at least one traversing bore (35, 37) which receives an electrical contact element (61), characterised in that the electrical contact element (61) comprises a central contact body (61, 63, 65) received in an intermediate socket (67) which is itself received in the bore of the insulating unit in relation to which it is axially immobilised in a first direction by engagement of two opposingly formed shoulders, respectively on the socket (69) and in the bore, and in a second direction by engaging two other opposing shoulders between which an external supporting ferrule (41) is interposed which can be effaced from one of the end faces of the insulating unit, the contact body being immobilised axially in relation to the socket in the said second direction by engagement of two opposingly formed shoulders, respectively on the contact body (61) and in the socket (67), and in the said first direction by engaging two other opposing shoulders between which an internal supporting ferrule (73) is interposed which can be effaced from the other end face of the insulating unit. <IMAGE>
