Abstract (en)
An electric medium-voltage switch comprises contacts (16, 22) actuated by a connecting-rod/crank system (54, 58). An arc circuit comprising a cylindrical electrode (26) arranged inside a coil (24) and whose inside surface cooperates with a moving arc contact (34) is arranged parallel to the main contacts (16, 22). The mechanical link connecting the main contact (22) to the arc contact (34) comprises a crank (48)/connecting rod (42) system comprising an elastic element consisting of a slot (46) and a spring (50) making it possible to provide the contact pressure for the arc contacts. In the open position of the switch the connecting-rod (42) extends perpendicular to the crank (48), and the elastic element is neutralised in such a way as to maintain the moving arc contact (34) without play in the open position despite the electrodynamic forces acting on it. <IMAGE>
