[origin: WO8907397A1] In a method for adjusting the length of an elongate flexible body (4, 4', 4'') having a central portion and two end portions (12) and consisting of a plastic material, the body is prepared with a length which is at least equal to a desired length. The body (4') is thereafter imparted a rotary movement about its longitudinal axis while contacting a supporting surface (2), if the length of the body after said preparation exceeds the desired length. An apparatus for carrying out the method comprises a supporting surface (2) for carrying the body (4, 4', 4''), and means (28A, 28B; 30A, 30B; 32A, 32B) for imparting to the body (4') a rotary movement about its longitudinal axis while moving relative to the supporting surface (2).

Dans un procédé de réglage de la longueur d'un corps souple allongé (4, 4', 4'') comportant une partie centrale ainsi que deux parties terminales (12), et se composant d'une matière plastique, on prépare ledit corps avec une longueur au moins égale à une longueur voulue. On fait ensuite tourner le corps (4') autour de son axe longitudinal par contact avec une surface porteuse (2), si la longueur dudit corps après ladite préparation dépasse la longueur voulue. Un appareil de mise en oeuvre du procédé comprend une surface porteuse (2) transportant le corps (4, 4', 4''), ainsi que des moyens (28A, 28B; 30A, 30B; 32A, 32B) communiquant au corps (4') un mouvement rotatif autour de son axe longitudinal pendant qu'il se déplace par rapport à la surface porteuse (2).
