[origin: WO8907268A1] A monoclonal antibody specific to a unique antigen determinant on the surface of human breast carcinoma cells but which does not bind to normal human breast tissue. The antigen is characterized as a high molecular weight mucin-like glycoprotein complex having a molecular weight exceeding 400,000 daltons. Further, the monoclonal antibody is capable of being used in the diagnostic imaging and therapeutic treatment of breast cancer in humans.

La présente invention décrit un anticorps monoclonal qui est spécifique à un déterminant antigénique unique se trouvant sur la surface de cellules carcinomateuses du sein chez la femme, mais qui ne se lie pas aux tissus normaux du sein. Ledit antigène est constitué par un complexe de glycoprotéines du type mucines, dont le poids moléculaire élevé dépasse 400000 daltons. Ledit anticorps monoclonal peut en outre être utilisé dans la représentation en images à des fins diagnostiques et dans le traitement thérapeutique du cancer du sein chez la femme.
