The invention relates to a machine for binding packages (P) with a binding medium (26) which can be drawn off from a stock roll, in which machine the package (P), as a result of being pushed forward on a packaging conveying path (4) projects against a cord (S) stretched transversely to the direction of advance (x) from the feed end to a gripper (27), this cord extending from the gripper (27), arranged below the conveying path (4) and adjacent to a closure device (28), to a binding medium guide member which can be moved from a vertical position above the top of the package into a vertical position below the conveying path (4); in order to achieve an optimum solution, particularly from the point of view of application technology, it proposes that the binding medium guide member is designed as an arm (21), extending transversely into the region of the conveying path (4), of a support (19) which is moved up and down to the side of the conveying path (4) and, in the low position of the support (19), dips into a trough (17) of the conveying path (4) which is formed by deflection points and is open at the top. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Maschine zum Umschnüren von Packstücken (P) mit einem von einer Vorratsrolle abziehbaren Umschnürungsmittel (26), bei welcher das Packstück (P) durch Vorschub auf einer Packstück-Förderstrecke (4) eine quer zur Vorschubbewegung (x) vom Zuführende zu einem Greifer (27) gespannte Sehne (S) ausstülpt, welche von dem unterhalb der Förderstrecke (4) angeordneten, einer Verschlußeinrichtung (28) benachbarten Greifer (27) bis zu einem Umschnürungsmittel-Führungsglied reicht, welches aus einer Höhenlage oberhalb der Packstück-Oberseite bis in eine Höhenlage unterhalb der Förderstrecke (4) verlagerbar ist; sie schlägt zur Erzielung einer insbesondere einsatztechnisch optimalen Lösung vor, daß das Umschnürungsmittel-Führungsglied als querseitig in den Bereich der Förderstrecke (4) reichender Arm (21) eines sich seitlich der Förderstrekke (4) auf- und abbewegenen Trägers (19) gestaltet ist und in Tiefstellung des Trägers (19) in eine durch Umlenkstellen gebildete, nach oben offene Mulde (17) der Förderstrecke (4) eintaucht.
