For the chemical-thermal destruction of halogenated hydrocarbons with lime, 1 to 10 parts by weight of sand are added to the lime, the reaction product of calcium halide and sand is dehalogenated with steam and the dehalogenated product is used again for reaction with halogenated hydrocarbons.

Zur chemisch-thermischen Zersetzung von halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoffen mit Kalk werden dem Kalk 1 bis 10 Gewichtsteile Sand zugesetzt, das Reaktionprodukt aus Kalziumhalogenid und Sand mit Wasserdampf dehalogeniert und das dehalogenierte Produkt wieder zur Umsetzung mit halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoffen eingesetzt.
