[origin: EP0402285A1] The device (4) ensures the support and guidance of insertion members (2), such as pipes or bands, displaced alternately and exchanging the weft at the centre of the width of the fabric. In the central exchange zone there are components (14, 15) comprising hook-shaped parts (16, 17) for the guidance of each insertion member (2) by its edges, and a bearing surface (18) which absorbs the forces for the control of the opening of the gripper located at the end of this insertion member (2).
