[origin: EP0402808A1] A partition wall exists in which a window or door opening (1) is limited, with the formation of corner regions, at each side by an upright section (2) and at the top by a lintel section (3), the lintel section (3) being arranged on the upright sections (2) and having a U-shaped cross-section, and the upright and lintel sections (2, 3) being covered by wall panels (11) at least on one side, the opening (1) being left open, and are fixedly connected by fixing pins (10). In this arrangement it is desirable to reduce the risk of the occurrence of wall-panel cracks propagating from the corner regions of the opening. This is achieved in that the lintel section (3) is traversed by the upright sections (2) on a recess provided in each case in the section base (5), projects laterally away from the upright sections with one projection (7) in each case and is fixedly connected (10) in the region of the projections (7) to the wall panels (11). An increased tractive force directed away from the corner region can be exerted on the wall panel limiting a corner region.
