[origin: EP0402814A1] The support device for load-bearing elements in grandstands or scaffoldings has a height-adjustable foot piece (60) comprising a foot plate (111), a threaded spindle (114) and a conventional nut (115). Fastened to a sleeve (120) are vertical plates (122). The latter have pins (125). Placed on the pins (125) are the eye heads (132) of inclined struts (130) which are fastened, in a suitable manner, to load-bearing parts of the load-bearing elements in grandstands or scaffoldings so as to be adjustable in length. <IMAGE>
