The invention proposes a method and an apparatus for bending flat metallic material, such as a structural steel mat, it being possible to clamp the material to be bent firmly between a support (12) and a holding element (14), which can be lowered. A bending element (16) such as a bending rod, then acts on the material in order to bend it to the desired geometry. The holding element (14) can be pulled out laterally from a bent shape. <IMAGE>

Es wird ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Biegen von flächigem Metalmaterial wie Baustahlmatte vorgeschlagen, wobei das zu biegende Material zwischen einer Auflage (12) und einem absenkbaren Halteelement (14) festklemmbar ist. Anschließend wirkt auf das Material ein Biegeelement (16) wie Biegestab, um die gewünschte Geometrie zu biegen. Das Halteelement (12) kann seitlich aus einer gebogenen Form herausgezogen werden.
