[origin: EP0403422A2] For the protection of a water-heating installation against freezing of the water heater (1) which is operated by a burner (2), independent of the air in the room, the drive of the burner fan (5) is shut down after the expiry of a predetermined period beginning with the error display of an air monitor (14), for a predetermined minimum period. A water-heating installation suitable for the performance of this method contains, for the purposes of conforming to the predetermined periods, a circuit (23) which is connected to a cyclic oscillator (26) and is linked to the general control (12) of this installation via a control line (22). <IMAGE>
