[origin: WO9007623A1] A surrounding frame (2) is composed of sections of a profiled rod of U-shaped cross-section. Two branches extend from a cross-piece (4), one (5) of which has the form of a sealing lip. The other branch (6) is substantially thicker and serves not only as an elastic bearing for the element (1) surrounded by the frame (2) but also to absorb mounting tolerances. To this end, it has projections (11) which, because of their small bearing surface, reduce the transfer of cold from the element to the supporting structure (3, 10) of the building. An anchoring element (12) located at the end of the cross-piece (4) nearer the thicker branch (6) forms, together with this branch (6), a groove (13) in which an angled profiled rod mounted on the support of the building (3) engages in order to anchor the frame (2). Although the element (1) is firmly held in the frame (2), the latter is capable of absorbing not only the differences in thermal expansion between the element (1) and the support (3) but also dynamic stresses (due to storms or earthquakes) even on large façades.
