Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0404089A1] The buckle comprises a locking mechanism and at least one ejectable seat-belt end piece (2) which can be inserted into the latter and has a buckle latch (4) lockable by means of the mechanism. The mechanism consists of a U-shaped metal frame (7), of a locking element (8) mounted in the lateral cut-outs of the latter and intended for locking the buckle latch, an ejector (9) for the buckle latch (4), a locking- element support (10), and of a release button (11). In order to further simplify the buckle and to be able to manufacture it more cheaply, the locking element (8) is designed as a component in the form of a small plate and the lateral cut-outs (18) in the metal frame (7) for mounting the locking element (8) consist of elongate holes in the frame which extend parallel to the direction of motion of the buckle latch (4) and are dimensioned such that the pins (19) of the locking element (8) can be moved in the direction of motion of the buckle latch but are guided essentially without play perpendicularly thereto. The web part (22) of the U-shaped metal frame (7) has a stop (24) for fixing the locking position of the locking element (8) and the locking-element support (10) is arranged behind the locking element, above the ejector (9), and can be moved at least essentially parallel to the direction of motion of the ejector. <IMAGE>
