Abstract (en)
A static mixing device for fluids, in particular gases and/or liquids, is indicated which has at least one grid-type mixing element (1) which can be inserted into a line such as a pipe. In the plane of the line cross-section, the mixing element has a plurality of passage channels (2) which are arranged in parallel rows and whose walls are inclined towards opposite sides relative to the main direction of flow, in such a way that the flow in adjacent rows is deflected in opposite directions. The length of the mixing element is about one quarter of the line diameter. In a preferred embodiment, two or more mixing elements can be arranged one after the other, as viewed in the main direction of the flow, the successive mixing elements being in each case arranged with a twist of 45 to 90 DEG relative to one another, in order to promote mixing and homogenising. The angles of the passage channels relative to the main direction of flow can be selected in dependence on the requirement and are appropriately within a range from 30 DEG to 60 DEG or greater. Different numbers of passage channels in the particular rows can be selected. <IMAGE>
