[origin: EP0404641A1] Tundish 1 for continuous casting of steel, of the type comprising a continuous refractory 3, 3' cast on a sheet-metal casing 2 forming the outer wall of the tundish, and on which a wear refractory 4 is deposited. A gas pipe 11 is provided in the mass of the said continuous refractory 3, the said pipe penetrating into the said continuous refractory 3 at the level of the upper edge 12 of the tundish and developing, at the level of the bottom of the tundish, into a gas-distribution chamber 13 covered with a gas-permeable plate distributed over the surface. <??>Application to the continuous casting of steels for a tundish between ladle and casting moulds. <IMAGE>
