[origin: EP0404719A1] In order to fill bags with bulk material, in particular with cereal products, expandable shaping elements (46, 47; 48, 49) are jointly pushed into the aperture of a bag (42) which was folded flat. The bag (50), with the inserted shaping elements, is introduced into a rigid packaging (52). The shaping elements (46, 47) are expanded, in order to widen the bag (42), the bag being filled with the bulk material between the expanded shaping elements.
