[origin: EP0404948A1] This invention relates to an image transfer formation method which transfers an image onto the surface of a card by thermal pressure bonding by use of a thermal transfer receiving sheet equipped with a peel layer and an image receiving layer for accepting dyes transferred from a dye transfer sheet on one of the surfaces of a substrate. This transfer formation method is characterized in that the thermal transfer receiving sheet and the card are superposed, heated and pressed for thermal pressure bonding at 130 to 180 DEG C and 3 to 15 kg/cm<2> while they are being passed through a pair of pressing rubber rollers having a hardness of 70 to 90 DEG .
