In order to protect a waterproof garment in the region of a closure device (15) from the penetration of water via water bridges, the inside surfaces of a covering strip (29) and an intermediate strip (41) and the two surfaces of connecting strips (67, 69), which extend between a covering strip seam (31) and one side of the closure device (15) or an intermediate strip seam (43) and the other side of the closure device (15), are each formed by monofilament knitted fabric and, additionally, waterproof sweat bands (71, 73, 75, 77) are welded on in each case into the angle between the one or the other garment part (11, 13) and the connecting strips (67, 69) on the one hand and between the covering strip (29) or the intermediate strip (41) and the connecting strips (67, 69) on the other hand. <IMAGE>

Um ein wasserdichtes Kleidungsstück im Bereich einer Verschlußeinrichtung (15) gegen das Eindringen von Wasser über Wasserbrücken zu schützen, sind die inneren Oberflächen einer Abdeckleiste (29) und einer Zwischenleiste (41) und die beiden Oberflächen von Verbindungsleisten (67, 69), die sich zwischen einer Abdeckleistennaht (31) und der einen Seite der Verschlußeinrichtung (15) bzw. einer Zwischenleistennaht (43) und der anderen Seite der Verschlußeinrichtung (15) erstrecken, je durch monofile Wirkware gebildet und sind außerdem in die Winkel zwischen dem einen bzw. dem anderen Kleidungsstückteil (11, 13) und den Verbindungsleisten (67, 69) einerseits und zwischen der Abdeckleiste (29) bzw. der Zwischenleiste (41) und den Verbindungsleisten (67, 69) andererseits je wasserdichte Schweißbänder (71,73,75,77) aufgeschweißt.
