Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0405079A2] The contact membrane consists of a frame (1, 1') having a diametrically central longitudinal web (4). The frame (1, 1') and the central longitudinal web (4) bulge relatively towards one another such that the central longitudinal web (4) can be moved by exerting pressure (P) into either one of two sprung positions, one of which is provided as a quiescent position and the other for making contact with a fixed contact device of the switching element. Furthermore, the frame (1, 1') is provided with abutment points (5) for abutment on a wall part of the switching element. In order that a switch equipped with the contact element indicates a noticeable sense of switching when actuated by an operator, it is provided that there are two abutment points (8) arranged opposite the central longitudinal web (4) in the region of its longitudinal centre. <IMAGE>
