[origin: EP0405087A1] The known NOx-reducing measures (OFA, IFNR) are limited to ensure ignition stability and basic stability of the flame and complete burn-out, particularly in the case of fuels which are difficult to ignite and burn. The formation of NOx in the firing chamber is to be reduced further by the installation of heating surfaces. The further NOx reduction is accomplished by a welded tube belt (16) arranged in the centre of the firing chamber. An additional measure is to enlarge the quantity of recycled flue gas, for example through a second flue gas line (29), whereby the heat balance of the boiler is also regulated. <IMAGE>
