Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0405144A2] The support is used for a light fitting for fluorescent lamps (13), having a transparent protective tube (16), surrounding the lamp. At the end, the protective tube (16) is held by screw rings (18) having seals (19) and connected to the supports for the fluorescent lamp. The screw ring (18) can be screwed to a collar (3) provided on the base plate (1) of the support. The collar (3) surrounds a collet (9). Supported inside the collet (9) are the live parts of the support and the rotating star (11) which is used for holding the contact pins (17) of the lamp (13). The end of the collet (9) is covered by a covering plate (12). The covering plate (12) is constructed as a rotating star (11). Over a significant part of the circumference, the diameter of the radially slotted covering plate (12) is larger than the external diameter of the collet (9) but smaller than the internal diameter of the collar (3). The collar (3) has cut-outs in two diametrically opposite regions. In consequence, it is possible to insert the fluorescent lamp (13) located in the protective tube (16) into the support without difficulties. <IMAGE>
