[origin: EP0405274A1] The tooth mounting has a rear part (2) which consists of a longer mounting arm (7) on the inside and a shorter mounting arm (8) on the outside. The mounting arms (7, 8) are joined to one another during their manufacture. For fixing a tooth to an excavator bucket, the connecting part (17) between the two mounting arms (7, 8) is moved away to a width which approximately corresponds to the wall thickness of the marginal part (10) of the excavator bucket. <IMAGE>
