[origin: EP0405335A2] A protected connector (1) for a distribution strip is provided with retaining chambers (5), open towards its fitment side, for cylindrical over-voltage suppressors (6) which are arranged in a row at right angles in the longitudinal direction of the protected connector. The over-voltage suppressors are provided with axially applied connecting pins (7) at the end which are bent in the form of an arc in the radial direction and can be inserted in this direction into spring contacts (9) of the protected connector (1). Outer walls (14) of the retaining chambers (5) have grooves (15) extending in the insertion direction into which the connecting pins (7) project with their arc-shaped section. On insertion of the over-voltage suppressors (6), their connecting pins are aligned precisely to the spring contacts (9). <IMAGE>
