[origin: EP0405539A1] The branch-off housing comprises: 1) in a first outer metal casing (2), a first external moulded insulating element (14) comprising a) two female connector members (7A, 7B) for connecting to an internal insulating element (9) b) metal connections (31A to 31D) forming a branch-off, 2) in a second external metal envelope, a second external moulded insulating element (3, 3'), 3) the said internal insulating element comprising male connecting members for connecting to the said first external element, 4) a sealing material (4) between the second external element and the internal element. The ends of the conductors (30A to 30D) of the branched-off cable or cables and the ends of the metal connections (31A-31D) connected to the perforating connecting members (15A-15D) for these conductors are inside an extension of the first external element, forming an appendage to it, in which an insulating part (16) is slidably mounted in order to jam the conductors against their perforating connecting members. <IMAGE>
