Cassette (3) for a device for continuous casting of molten metal between two parallel rolls (2), comprising a casing (4) which is open on one of its sides, containing a plate (5) of refractory material which can be preheated before casting of the molten metal; the refractory plate (5) is preformed so as to reserve a free space (8) between its periphery and the wall (4b) of the casing (4), and this cassette is equipped with means (9, 11) for fastening and clamping the plate (5), with elastic antagonistic action permitting free expansion in the casing (4) of the plate (5) during its heating up. The free expansion of the refractory (5) prevents any bulging or bending of the latter and of the assembly of the cassette (3), and thus ensures maintenance of sufficient leaktightness to avoid any risk of infiltrations of molten metal between the front faces (2a) of the rolls (2) and the refractory plate (5). <IMAGE>

Cassette (3) pour dispositif de coulée continue de métal liquide entre deux cylindres parallèles (2), comportant une enveloppe (4) ouverte sur l'un de ses côtés, contenant une plaque (5) de matériau réfractaire pouvant être préchauffée avant la coulée du métal liquide; la plaque réfractaire (5) est préformée de manière à réserver un espace libre (8) entre son pourtour et la paroi (4b) de l'enveloppe (4), et cette cassette est équipée de moyens (9, 11) de fixation et de serrage de la plaque (5), à action antagoniste élastique permettant une libre dilatation dans l'enveloppe (4) de la plaque (5) lors de son échauffement. La libre dilatation du réfractaire (5) évite tout bombage ou cintrage de ce dernier et de l'ensemble de la cassette (3), et assure donc le maintien d'une étanchéité suffisante pour èviter tout risque d'infiltrations de métal liquide entre les faces frontales (2a) des cylindres (2) et la plaque réfractaire (5).
