[origin: WO9003454A1] Copper-containing work pieces, in particular copper-laminated printed circuit boards, are etched in an alkaline corrosive agent containing the copper-tetramine complex as active component. After etching, the work pieces are rinsed with an essentially neutral rinsing liquid which is an initiating solution of the regeneration salt required for regeneration of the corrosive agent. This regeneration salt contains essentially ammonium and chloride ions. Also disclosed is a regeneration installation connected to the etching machine, in which the pH of the corrosive agent is adjusted to the correct value and the corrosive agent is mixed with the neutral initiating solution from the rinsing operation.

On grave des pièces à usiner contenant du cuivre, notamment des cartes de circuits imprimés plaquées en cuivre, avec un agent alcalin de gravure qui contient comme composant actif un complexe de cuivre et de tétramine. Après la gravure, on rince les pièces à usiner avec un liquide de rinçage essentiellement neutre qui constitue une solution initiale du sel régénérateur requis pour régénérer l'agent de gravure. Ce sel régénérateur contient essentiellement des ions d'ammonium et de chlorure. Dans une installation de régénération reliée à la machine de gravure, l'agent de gravure est mélangé d'une part avec du gaz ammoniac, afin de régler son pH, et d'autre part avec la solution initiale neutre utilisée lors du rinçage.
