Abstract (en)
[origin: JPH03131291A] PURPOSE: To enable quilting without wasting most of webs by sewing a belt projecting sideward from a longitudinal edge part onto the longitudinal edge part in the case of sewing the longitudinal edge parts of the side parts in an outer fabric web and a filler-material web. CONSTITUTION: The belt 35 with a seam 30 is sewed at an outer side from the both longitudinal edge parts 22 along the both edge parts 22 of the outer fabric web 5 and the filler-material web 7 which are superimposed in a non- sewing state. The outer fabric web 5 and the filler-material web 7 are mutually fixed at one side by the belt 35 and only an outer section from the longitudinal edge part 22 of the outer fabric web 5 is gripped by a fastening frame 13 at the other side. Therefore, the part of the belt 35 remaining in the outer side of the seam is cut by a cutting device 65. Thus, only a narrow strip is separated so that the expensive outer fabric is not wasted.
