[origin: WO8908852A1] The effects of eddy currents are measured during a long period (TM) in an NMR machine by inserting in the latter a probe having a magnetically resonant material with a low spin-spin relaxation time, and by effecting reiteration (PR) of the electromagnetic exitation (17-19) of a resonant signal in said material and measuring the resulting de-exitation NMR signal (20-22), for an increasing number of times depending on the length of time required for creation of the eddy currents. It is shown that this process provides an accurate appreciation of the corrections to be applied to real-field gradient pulses (23, 24).

On mesure les effets des courants de FOUCAULT pendant une période (TM) longue dans une machine RMN en plaçant dans cette machine une sonde possédant un matériau susceptible de résonance magnétique ayant un temps de relaxation spin-spin faible, et en procédant à une réitération (PR) de l'excitation (17-19) électromagnétique d'un signal de résonance dans ce matériau et à la mesure du signal (20-22) de RMN de désexcitation qui en résulte, d'autant plus souvent de fois que la période pendant laquelle les effets des courants de FOUCAULT sont à prendre en compte est longue. On montre que cette manière de faire permet d'apprécier justement les corrections à appliquer sur des impulsions de gradient (23-24) de champ réel.
