[origin: EP0408158A2] A matrix printhead has a plurality of armature modules which each consist of a magnet yoke (9) with an electromagnet coil (10) arranged on one of the magnet yoke legs (9a) and of an armature (8) which serves as drive for a print element (2), it being possible to adjust the armature (8) in a rapid sequence towards the pole faces (20b) of the magnet yokes (9) and back into a position of rest. In order to reduce wear at the pole faces (20a and 20b) and at wear faces (18), it is proposed that it be possible to store temperature-resistant lubricants in capillary cavities (17) of the armature (8) and/or magnet yoke (9) and that these capillary cavities (17) open onto wear faces (18). <IMAGE>
