Abstract (en)
The invention relates to a latch apparatus for fixing a handle (6) in a locked state. For example, the handle is for opening and closing a door such as a double-leafed hinged door (1) attached to the rear or side of a van-type vehicle (V). The latch apparatus of the handle for opening and closing this door includes a base (20), a latch member (30) pivotally supported on the base, and a biasing device (40) for biasing the latch member in a direction in which the handle, which is a body to be locked, is opened and a direction in which the handle is restrained. The latch apparatus can be opened manually with ease. When the door is closed, the handle is locked automatically by inserting it.
