Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0408544A2] A relay, in particular a plug-in relay, has a housing (5) supporting the magnet system, an armature (3), which is held by a spring device (9) in its quiescent position, and a test pin (6', 6''), which is supported in the housing in a moving manner, for manual operation of the armature, which test pin can be brought into contact by means of its one end with the armature (3) or with a part fitted thereto, and which holds the armature (3) in its operating position when in its own operating position. In order that the test pin can be locked in the operating position only by an authorised person, and is thus clearly visible, irrespective of whether the relay is in the test position or in normal operation, an operating device (8', 8''), separated from the relay, is provided to operate the test pin (6', 6''), which operating device (8', 8'') can be inserted into the relay and, in its operating position, in which it holds the test pin (6', 6'') in its operating position, can be locked with the relay and which can be separated from the relay again only by exercising force. <IMAGE>
