Bei einer Ventilpistole, insbesondere für ein Hochdruckreinigungsgerät, mit einem Pistolengehäuse (1) mit einem Handgriff (2), mit einem im Pistolengehäuse (1) angeordneten, gegen den Systemdruck zu öffnenden Ventil (3) mit einem zur Öffnungsbewegung eines Ventilkörpers (9) dienenden Kraftübertragungselement (10), mit einem im Pistolengehäuse (1) am Handgriff (2) auf einer Schwenkachse (11) schwenkbar gelagerter Handhebel (12), wobei der Handhebel (12) über einen bestimmten Schwenkweg schwenkbar ist und einen am Kraftübertragungselement (10) zur Anlage kommenden Betätigungsarm (13) aufweist, wobei das Kraftübertragungselement (10) vom Betätigungsarm (13) über einen bestimmten Betätigungsweg verschiebbar ist und wobei zwischen Handhebel (12) und Betätigungsarm (13) ein bestimmtes Hebelverhältnis vorliegt, erreicht man mit geringem konstruktivem Aufwand, daß am Handhebel auch die bei geöffnetem Ventilkörper erforderliche Haltekraft möglichst gering gemacht werden kann, indem die Schwenkachse (11) im Pistolengehäuse (1) bzw. im Handhebel in einem sich etwa in Bewegungsrichtung des Kraftübertragungselements (10) erstreckenden Langloch (14) gelagert und in diesem verschiebbar ist, so daß der Schwenkbewegung des Handhebels (12) mit dem Betätigungsarm (13) um die Schwenkachse (11) teilweise eine Verschiebebewegung überlagert ist, daß die Verschiebebewegung des Handhebels (12) aus der Schwenkbewegung abgeleitet wird und dazu eine zwischen dem Handhebel (12) und dem Pistolengehäuse (1) bzw. dem Winkelrohr (6) wirksame Getriebeverbindung, insbesondere eine Keilgetriebeverbindung (15), vorgesehen ist und daß am Handhebel (12) mit Abstand von der Schwenkachse (11) ein Getriebeteil, insbesondere eine Getrieberolle (16), und am Pistolengehäuse (1) bzw. am Winkelrohr (6) ein ortsfestes Widerlagerteil, insbesondere eine Widerlagerrolle (17), angebracht ist.
