[origin: JPH0351344A] PURPOSE: To aim at dealing with a high speed of a loom by constituting a gripper main body together with a gripper head by mounting an movable clumping pad working together with a stationary clumping pad at the free end of a spring of a spring device as tiltable for reducing its weight widely. CONSTITUTION: This gripper head is provided by constituting a clumping device with a gripper main body 1 for gripping weft yarn, a stationary clumping pad 13 and a movable pad 12 working together with it. Also, by mounting the above movable pad 12 as tiltable at the free end of a spring 3 mounted at the gripper head main body as adjustable through a spring mounting block 2, no other supporting pad is required and it is possible to reduce the total mass of the gripper head as a whole widely.
