Abstract (en)
A new electrophotographic recording material for xerography is proposed which is applied to a laminar or drum-type substrate in a layered construction, which has a photoconductive layer and in which at least the uppermost layer is formed from amorphous hydrogenated carbon. In a variant of the process, the amorphous hydrogenated carbon layer is deposited from an HF-excited low-pressure plasma with gaseous carbon as reaction gas, a self-bias DC voltage being superimposed on the high-frequency field. The a-C:H material obtained in this way is semiconducting and has photoconducting properties so that it can also be used for the photoconducting layer in electrophotographic recording material. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Es wird ein neues elektrophotographisches Aufzeichnungsmaterial für die Xerographie vorgeschlagen, welches auf einem platten- oder trommelförmigen Substrat im Schichtaufbau aufgebracht ist, eine photoleitfähige Schicht aufweist und bei dem zumindest die oberste Schicht aus amorphem wasserstoffhaltigem Kohlenstoff ausgebildet ist. In einer Variante des Verfahrens wird die amorphe wasserstoffhaltige Kohlenstoffschicht aus einem HF-angeregten Niederdruckplasma mit gasförmigem Kohlenwasserstoff als Reaktionsgas abgeschieden, wobei dem Hochfrequenzfeld eine self bias-DC-Spannung überlagert ist. Das so erhaltene a-C:H-Material ist halbleitend und weist photoleitende Eigenschaften auf, so daß es auch für die photoleitende Schicht im elektrophotographischen Aufzeichnungsmaterial verwendet werden kann.
