The flat knitwear, which can be manufactured on a two-bed flat knitting machine of variable slide stroke and transfer direction, is characterised in that the stitch-forming yarn (10) is looped around individual stitch legs (12.1, 12.2) in the stich-row direction and thereby acquires good dimensional stability and also a particular appearance. <IMAGE>

Das auf einer zweibettigen Flachstrickmaschine mit veränderbarem Schlittenhub und Umhängeeinrichtung herstellbare Flachgestrick ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der maschenbildende Faden (10) in der Maschenreihenrichtung um einzelne Maschenschenkel (12.1, 12.2) herumgeschleift ist und hierdurch eine gute Formstabilität und auch ein besonderes Aussehen erhält.
