Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0409139A1] The invention relates to a system for driving the knife arrangements of an open-shed double-lift jacquard machine, which is built completely above the machine and which consists of a central driving axle (1) driving, at the two outer ends, a set of complementary cam discs (3) which interact respectively with two guide levers (4) located diametrically opposite one another. These execute relative to one another a to-and-fro pivoting movement between their arms (6) in phase opposition about a transverse axis of symmetry. By means of each pair of guide levers (4), two knife suspension bars (12) are so connected to those arms (6) via driving rods (11) that they move up and down relative to one another in phase opposition in vertical parallel surfaces. A number of knives (25) are suspended in the insertion or weft direction on two respective knife suspension bars (12) which move in phase and which are located on the opposite sides of the machine in the warp direction. Auxiliary means are provided for adjusting the stroke and inclination of the knife suspension bars (12). <IMAGE>
