[origin: EP0409453A1] A barrier structure for use e.g. in the walls and/or doors of safes, strongrooms and like penetration-resistant security enclosures comprises at least two layers of different materials selected for resistance to a combination of burglary tools, these being at least one layer of an elastomer material (7,10,13) reinforced with elements of hard material (8,11,14) and at least one layer of dense timber (3,6,9,12).
