The invention relates to a locking device for a door, window or the like, comprising a sliding leaf (1) equipped with a front upright in the form of a U-section (5) capable of engaging into a U-section (8) forming the corresponding upright of the frame (2) in the closing position, the bottoms (14, 10) of each of these U-sections (5, 8) maintaining a distance between them so as to delimit a free space (29) in which assume position, on the one hand, at least one hook bolt (20) fixed to an operating rod (19) and, on the other hand, at least one keeper (26) fastened in the U-section (8) of the frame (2). <??>To mitigate the problem of the free space (29) which, in the closing position, is delimited by the bottoms (14, 10) of the U-sections (5, 8) of the sliding leaf (1) and of the frame (2) respectively, particularly in the event of a reduction of the cross-section of one of these U-sections (5, 8), the locking device comprises, in the region of the operating rod (19), automatic compensation means which finally allow at least one hook bolt (20) and one keeper (25) of standard size to be inserted into this free space (29). <IMAGE>

L'invention concerne une ferrure de verrouillage pour porte, fenêtre ou analogue comprenant un ouvrant coulissant (1) muni d'un montant avant en forme de profilé en "U" (5) susceptible de s'emboîter dans un profilé en "U" (8) constituant le montant correspondant du dormant (2), en position de fermeture, les fonds (14, 10) de chacun de ces profilés en "U" (5, 8) respectant entre eux une distance de manière à délimiter un espace libre (29) dans lequel prennent position, d'une part, au moins un pêne à crochet (20) rendu solidaire d'une tringle de manoeuvre (19) et, d'autre part, au moins une gâche (26) fixée dans le profilé en "U" (8) du dormant (2). De manière à palier au problème de l'espace libre (29) délimité, en position de fermeture, par les fonds (14, 10) des profilés en "U" (5, 8) respectivement de l'ouvrant coulissant (1) et du dormant (2), notamment, en cas de réduction de la section de l'un de ces profilés en "U" (5, 8), la ferrure de verrouillage comporte, au niveau de la tringle de manoeuvre (19) des moyens de compensation autorisant, finalement, l'insertion dans cet espace libre (29) d'au moins un pêne à crochet (20) et d'une gâche (25) de dimension standard.
